PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grass protecting mat which is not buried in the ground. SOLUTION: A grass protecting mat 1 which is placed on the ground where grass is grown and protects the grass from foot press is provided. This grass protecting mat 1 comprises a net made of an elastic body having ground-placed parts 3 and protruding parts 4, and has the following features: a space is formed between a protruding part 4 and the ground; plural protruding parts 4 are arranged around a ground-placed part 3; plural ground-placed parts 3 are arranged round a protruding part 4; each ground-placed part 3 and each protruding part 4 are alternately repeatedly continued; and when at least one protruding part 4 sinks due to foot press, the ground-placed parts 3 which are arranged in the periphery of the at least one ground-placed part 3 which exists in the periphery of the sunk protruding part 4 are risen in a state supported by the above- mentioned at least one ground-placed part 3.
