<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine having a burner device that stably and reliably ignites or burns fuel spray to improve combustion performance. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine having a burner device includes: an exhaust treatment device disposed in an exhaust gas passage and purifies exhaust gas; a burner device 140 disposed on the upstream side from the exhaust treatment device in the exhaust gas passage, and including a combustion cylinder 142 having a plurality of pores 142C and inserted into the exhaust gas passage, a fuel supply means 144 supplying fuel into the combustion cylinder, a secondary air supply means 146 supplying secondary air into the combustion cylinder, and an igniting means 148; and a control means 200 which controls the amount of fuel to be supplied by the fuel supply means and the amount of secondary air to be supplied by the secondary air supply means so that an air-fuel ratio between the air and fuel in the combustion cylinder is rich, while an air-fuel ratio between the air and fuel in the exhaust gas passage outside the combustion cylinder is lean. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
