<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system which improves the luminance of a light emitting diode light source. <P>SOLUTION: The quantity of a light caught usefully by the optical system can be increased by concentration of the light on a region in which the light can be brought together by the optical system. In one embodiment, the light emitting diode is arranged on the first surface of a transparent part including a light outgoing surface. The transparent part has a reflectivity element on a second surface and has a shape which introduces the light emitted from the light emitting diode into the direction of the light outgoing surface. An intermediate part between the first light emitting diode of the first surface of the transparent part and the light outgoing surface of the first surface of the transparent part is covered by a reflection coating. The part having the reflection coating in the first surface can be made wider than the light emitting diode width.
