PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner superior in cleaning properties by a cleaning blade even in endurance printing, capable of being fixed at a low fixing temperature, and capable of obtaining high glossiness, and to provide a method for manufacturing the toner and an image forming method using the toner. SOLUTION: In the toner containing colored particles and an external additive, the toner is manufactured, which is defective sphere bodies having the mean degree of irregularity of the toner (L<SB>2</SB>/L<SB>1</SB>) of 0.2-0.95 and which has a melt index value of 1-70 at 125°C and 21.18 N.
