PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of suppressing alignment abnormality and improving contrast, and electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device 1 provided with a plurality of dots D composed by holding a liquid crystal layer 23 between a first electrode 10 formed on a first substrate 2 and a second electrode 11 formed on a second substrate 3 comprises a first alignment layer 20 which is formed on the first electrode 10 and subjected to rubbing processing in a first rubbing direction 73 and a second alignment layer 22 which is formed on the second electrode 11 and subjected to the rubbing processing in a second rubbing direction 74.
