PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a pressure loss regardless of a particle size distribution of each single particle group and a particle shape, concerning a packed bed of a plurality of particle groups formed by mixing the plurality of single particle groups. SOLUTION: First, the size of the packed bed of the plurality of particle groups, a volume flow rate Q of fluid, and the ratioμ'/k' relative to each single particle group are acquired (S11). The number and arrangement of cells are determined from the size of the packed bed of the plurality of particle groups and a prescribed size of the cells (S12). The resistance of each cell is determined from the ratioμ'/k' relative to each single particle group and the prescribed size of the cells (S13). A passage model is organized based on the determined number and arrangement of the cells and the determined resistance of each cell (S14). Then, the pressure lossΔP of the packed bed of the plurality of particle groups is calculated based on the organized passage model and the volume flow rate Q of the fluid (S15).
