PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the guide of an elevator support means to the biasing side. SOLUTION: This elevator support means 1 for an elevator system comprises a base body 2, a drive side having at least one drive rib 3, a bias side having at least one guide rib 4 oppositely to the drive side, and a tension support structure 5 disposed on the base body. The guide rib 4 has a flank surface height h4 larger than that of the drive rib 3 and/or a flank surface width t4 larger than the drive rib 3. The ratio h4/w of the flank surface height h4 of the guide rib 4 to the width w of the elevator support means 1 is at least 0.4. Each guide rib 4 has three drive ribs 3 at the maximum.
