<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image reduction for image displaying efficiently while suppressing deterioration in image quality. <P>SOLUTION: An image processor generates an image for display by performing first reduction of an image with a first magnification greater than 1/2 and less than 1 by the bilinear method or the nearest neighbor method, and then performing second reduction of the image subjected to first reduction with a second magnification whose product with the first magnification is smaller than 1/2 by the average pixel method.
