A bucket lip and method of manufacturing

A folded lip for buckets of rope shovels and excavators is described, having a volumetric capacity of more than 25m3, the folded lip having high hardness and improved weldability and comprising: rolled steel plates with a flow stress between 600 and 900 MPa; wherein the lip further includes noses and holes formed by metal removal; and the shape of the noses is obtained with templates or gauges.
