PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To property predict wear of a paper feeding roller, and improve a paper-feeding success rate.SOLUTION: A paper conveyance time measurement section 205, when conveyance of paper by rotation of a paper feeding roller starts, measures a paper conveyance time from a start time of conveyance of paper to a time when the paper P has been detected by a specific feed sensor that is previously provided on a conveyance path. An abrasion degree calculation section 206 calculates an abrasion degree indicating a degree of abrasion of the paper feeding roller based on the measured paper conveyance time and a reference paper conveyance time measured in a state where there is no abrasion of the paper feeding roller. A paper conveyance adjustment section 207 adjusts a conveyance condition of the paper conveyed by the paper feeding roller with the use of the calculated abrasion degree.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
