PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that performance as a surface acoustic wave element is deteriorated because ripples within a band are generated in both of passing power and a group delaying time since the width of a electrode fingers 2' and a gap length between adjacent electrode fingers 2' are nearly equal at a crossing part for exciting high frequencies and parts having nearly equal electrode finger arraying intervals are arranged continuously. SOLUTION: A part or the entire of the crossing part which at least one of interdigital electrodes has is constituted by arranging a part where the gap length between the adjacent electrode fingers and the width of the electrode fingers are equal, a part where the width of the electrode fingers is shorter than the gap length or a site where the width of the electrode fingers is longer than the gap length are arranged in order while keeping the array intervals of the electrode fingers.
