An entry point is managed for easy understanding of the user. An information recording apparatus comprises a receiving unit for receiving a stream composed of coded digital data, an analyzing unit for detecting a change of an attribute of the received stream and outputting detection information, a control unit for acquiring the outputted detection information and time information on the time when the change has occurred as a first entry point and creating management information in which the first entry point is registered, a drive for recording the management information and the stream, and an input unit for inputting a second entry point preset for a reproduction path of the stream and used for arbitrarily accessing the stream and reproducing it. The control unit creates management information in which the first and second entry points are discriminatingly registered.
