<p>An elevator apparatus, wherein a car (4) and a counterbalance weight (5) are suspended by a 1:1 roping system in a hoistway, a first main rope (30) is wound on a drive sheave (12) so that the two extracted parts (30a, 30b) of the rope extending from the drive sheave (12) in different directions cross each other at a specified position to produce a frictional force between the rope and the drive sheave (12), a drive device (9) is installed aslant to position the rotating axis of the drive sheave (12) at a sharp angle relative to a vertical line so that the first main rope (30) does not come into contact with the first main rope (30) at the crossed position, and a first deflector wheel (17) for leading the first main rope (30) from the drive device (9) to the car (4) and a second deflector wheel (18) for leading the first main rope (30) from the drive device (9) to the counterbalance weight (18) are installed in the apparatus.</p> |
