The grinding machine has a grinding wheel located close to a grinding ring (15), and a regulating device (50) with a leaf spring fastened to the base of the grinding wheel by its upper end. The machine has a first adjusting element which keeps the base in a seat in a preadjusted horizontal position, a second adjusting element which is guided through a hole in a cover plate and allows adjustment of the spacing and reciprocal parallel orientation between the grinding wheel and grinding ring, and a third element for adjustment of the spring force of the leaf spring. - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a separator (30) for use in conjunction with a grinding machine.
