PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and inexpensively removing arsenic contained in water to be treated by utilizing inexpensive iron of high density produced by a water-atomizing method, and an arsenic removing treatment agent. SOLUTION: In the method for removing arsenic in water polluted with arsenic, water-atomized iron powder with a S content of 0.3-5 mass% or the water-atomized iron powder with the S content of 0.3-5 wt.% and a Mn content of 0.1-10 mass% is used and arsenic in water is adsorbed and removed by iron oxide and/or hydroxide formed on the surface of the iron powder.
