PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footrest device for a chair, which is height-adjustable in accordance with the length of user's legs, and capable of sufficiently bearing force added by feet. SOLUTION: The footrest device for a chair includes a first footrest body, having a sector-shape, brought into surface-contact with a seat support for user's feet to rest on it, a second footrest body, having a sector-shape, provided turnably at the first footrest body to cover the seat support together with the first footrest body when necessary for user's feet to rest on it, and a fastening part to separably fasten the first footrest body and the second footrest body to each other. The fastening part fastens the first footrest body and the second footrest body to each other in such a way as to be fixed to an outer surface of the seat support at a suitable height when necessary, with fastening force provided to the outer surface at the height where it is covered with the first and the second footrest bodies.
