METHOD FOR PRODUCING ACROLEIN FROM GLYCEROL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellently efficient method for producing acrolein which is reduced in the discharge of waste and energy consumption and is friendly to the global environment, and to provide a method for producing acrolein by a vapor-phase dehydration reaction of glycerol in excellent yield of acrolein with a long catalytic life.

SOLUTION: The method for producing acrolein includes carrying out the reaction under glycerol partial pressure of 0.01-30 kPa in a reaction raw material gas in the catalytic vapor-phase dehydration reaction for synthesizing acrolein by bringing a gas containing glycerol into contact with the solid acid catalyst.
