PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding apparatus including a cassette holding device configured to prevent deterioration of user's operability when drawing out a sheet cassette, with a simple configuration, and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding apparatus also includes a toggle mechanism including: a toggle arm 301 rotatably provided on an apparatus body side, and capable of engaging with a drawn arm 221; and a toggle spring 302 connected to the toggle arm 301 and an apparatus body; wherein the sheet cassette 200 is drawn into the loading position of the apparatus body by the elastic force of the toggle spring 302. The engagement position of a holding pin 222a and the toggle arm 301 when drawing out the sheet cassette 200 from the loading position of the apparatus body is set in such a manner that a distance from the rotating shaft 301a of the toggle arm 301 is longer than that in the engagement position of the drawn pin 221a and the toggle arm 301 when loading the sheet cassette 200 into the apparatus body. |
