An oriented electrical steel sheet has a chemical composition containing, in % by mass, 0.005% or less of C, 2.0 to 4.5% of Si and 0.5% or less of Mn, and also containing, in % by mass, Sb and P in such amounts that the formulae 0.01% ≤ [%Sb] ≤ 0.20% and 0.02% ≤ [%P] ≤ 2.0×[%Sb] can be satisfied, with the remainder made up by Fe and unavoidable impurities. The oriented electrical steel sheet has a magnetization force (TD-H10) and an iron loss (TD-W10) of 200 A/m or more and 1.60 W/kg or more, respectively, when the oriented electrical steel sheet is excited to 1.0 T at 50 Hz in a direction orthogonal to the rolling direction. By employing this configuration, it becomes possible to produce an oriented electrical steel sheet having excellent trans iron loss steadily on an industrial scale at low cost. |
