PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element driving device enabled to improve a visually ornamental effect by controlling the lighting of an EL element. SOLUTION: A voltage control circuit 2 generates a voltage VA which increases gradually up to the maximum output voltage with a prescribed time constant against the output voltage of a battery 1 when a power source is turned on. A driving circuit generates a voltage VB which increases gradually so as to follow the change of the voltage VA, therefore, an EL element illuminates so as to increase brightness gradually after the power source is turned on.
