A security stay for a window or door has a track member (1) mounted in a fixed frame pivotally attached to a bar (2) mounted on a moveable leaf. A first portion (5A) of a nose cap (5) engages a nose piece (4). The nose piece (4) includes a reverse locking face (6) orientated to engage on a mating face (9) of the first portion(5A) of the nose cap (5). For added security the nose cap(5) has a second portion (5B) which, when the window or door is in a closed position, engages in a groove (20) in the moveable leaf, and includes a hole (19) such that it may be screwed into the side of the fixed frame perpendicular to the track member (1). |
