The release mechanism, to release the control cable used to set motor cycle gears, has a cable spool with a system to lock and release it. The cable release has a toothed disk (1) secured to the cable spool, and a slide unit (6) with opposing pawls (9,10). During the release action, the pawls engage the circumference of the toothed disk alternately. The slide is on a spring mounting at the housing (5), to be retracted from the catch setting to the holding position. |
