<p>A levitation transportation device for transporting an object having a lower surface while levitating it by fluid. The levitation transportation device has a levitation device, a fluid supply device, and a transportation device. The levitation device has a base through which a chamber where the fluid passes is defined; a movable island member placed to cover the chamber and having an outer surface and a flat upper surface; an outer shell member surrounding the island member and having an inner surface facing the outer surface of the island member; a nozzle communicating with the chamber and jetting the fluid, the nozzle being demarcated by the outer surface of the island member and the inner surface of the outer shell member, being arranged to create, between the upper surface and the lower surface of the object, a space in which the fluid has uniform pressure, and tilting at least near the upper surface toward the inside of a region; and projections placed in the nozzle and pressed by the island member, which is subjected to the pressure of the fluid, to come into contact with an inner surface of the nozzle to thereby make the width of the nozzle uniform. The fluid supply device pressurizes the fluid and supplies the pressurized fluid to the chamber. The transportation device transports the object.</p> |
