A device (10) for tightening a slider for a slide fastener is provided with: a component-setting table (11) for loading and temporarily assembling a slider body (2), a handle (3), and a cover (6); and a tightening mechanism (180) for pressing a side surface (6a) of the cover (6) set on the component-setting table (11) with a tightening tool (192) to tighten and fix the side surface (6a) to the slider body (2). The tightening mechanism (180) is provided with: the tightening tool (192) configured so as to press the side surface (6a) of the cover (6); a tightening drive unit (184) for driving the tightening tool (192) with a drive source (183); a cover press (197) for pressing the cover (6); and a cover press unit (186) for actuating the cover press (197) with a driving force from the drive source (183). The cover press unit (186) is configured to move relative to the cover press (197) after the cover press (197) presses the cover (6). |
