PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for simultaneously determining the life and death of a plurality of single cells without damaging the cells.SOLUTION: The method for determining the life and death activity of non-spherical cells includes the steps of: applying an initial frequency to a non-spherical cell suspension in a cell whose bottom face and upper face are composed of facing transparent electrodes, raising the frequency to a determination frequency, and determining the life and death of non-spherical cells at the determination frequency. The apparatus 1 for determining the life and death activity of non-spherical cells for use in the method includes the cell 2, an AC oscillator 3, an observation device 4, an image display device 5, and an image processor 6. |
