PURPOSE: Lane recognition apparatus and a method thereof are provided to remove crosswalk on the road by using interest region of Kalman filter, thereby remove intrusive factor of lane recognition. CONSTITUTION: Image acquisition unit(110) obtains road video. Lane recognition unit(120) confirms existence of crosswalk in the road video. If the crosswalk exists within the road video, the lane recognition unit sets interest region by comparing lane prediction information and previous lane information. Based on the interest region, the lane recognition unit recognizes lane.
