PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device that can suppress as much as possible the outflow of charges from an accumulation charge holding part in a period from the end of an accumulation period to the readout of the last line in an image sensor that accumulates charges in a global shutter system.

SOLUTION: A CMOS sensor type image sensor having pixels arranged in matrix can capture an image without any distortion by performing readout of signals from the pixels for each line in a manner that after a reset operation of a signal charge accumulation part is performed in all the pixels arranged in matrix using transistors whose channel formation regions are formed of an oxide semiconductor as a charge accumulation control transistor and a reset transistor in a pixel portion, a charge accumulation operation is performed with photodiodes in all the pixels.
