PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonaqueous electrolyte capable of suppressing deterioration in capacity and rate characteristics even when used under high voltage conditions after being stored under high temperature conditions (for example, 60°C or above); and a lithium ion secondary battery using the same.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte of the present invention contains: an anion indicated by the following general formula (1): N(XSO)(FSO)](in general formula (1), X indicates a fluorine atom, a C1-6 alkyl group, or a C1-6 fluoroalkyl group.); a lithium cation; and a compound indicated by the following general formula (2). The concentration of the anion indicated by general formula (1) is 0.1 mol/L or more.
