The invention relates to a slot-closing device (7) for closing a slot (2) in a stator (S) or rotor (R) of an electric machine (E), said device (7) comprising a closure element (4) that contains a ferromagnetic material and includes a predetermined bending section (9) which extends along a longitudinal direction of the closure element (4) and via which two leg portions (10) that form an obtuse angle (11) of less than 180° therebetween are joined to one another. The aim of the invention is to be able to close the slot (2) in a low number of steps. For this purpose, an adhesive layer (5) is disposed on the edges (14) of the leg portions (10), and the adhesive layer (5) is designed to harden under the effect of heat.
