Method and switch for monitoring an emergency electricity generator of an emergency reporting assembly

The method involves periodic monitoring of voltage of a power storage battery (6). The voltage is compared with a reference value. An alarm message is produced, when the measured voltage falls below the reference value. A verification circuit (10) is looped between emergency power connectors (5a, 5b) and the battery. The circuit periodically verifies an inner resistance of the battery. The circuit delivers an error signal to a danger indicating system, when the voltage value lies outside a permissible range. Another voltage is produced as the error signal, and is less than the reference value. An independent claim is also included for a circuit for monitoring the emergency power storage battery.
