Disclosed are an airplane-mode control method and mobile terminal, said method comprising: when a mobile terminal is in non-airplane mode, searching for flight information contained in a social application; obtaining the current time information of the mobile terminal; determining whether the current time information falls within the time range of the flight information; if the determined result is affirmative, then activating the camera so as to obtain a picture of the surroundings of the mobile terminal; matching the picture of the surroundings of the mobile terminal with a preset picture of the interior environment of the aircraft cabin in order to determine whether the mobile terminal is located inside the aircraft cabin; if the mobile terminal is determined to be inside the aircraft cabin, then switching the operating mode of the mobile terminal to airplane mode. Using the method of the present invention, it is possible to promptly and automatically activate airplane mode when a mobile terminal is on an aircraft. |
