PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submerged type air valve with a repairing function capable of opening and closing an inlet of a valve chest by operating it from outside of an upper part of a cover on the air valve constituted of a small air hole valve seat and a large air hole valve seat. SOLUTION: A through part 16 is provided on a bottom part 14 of the valve chest 1, a check valve 5 to open and close the inlet 11 of the valve chest 1 and the through part 16 on the lower side of this inlet 11, a vertically communicated groove 33 is provided on the outside of a valve body guide 3, a push rod 54 screwed in a through hole female screw 24 provided outside of the large air hole valve seat 21 of the cover 2 and reaching the check valve 5 through the groove 33 and the through part 16 is provided, the inlet 11 is opened by the check valve 5 by rotating the push rod 54 from above the cover 2 and propelling it downward at the time of using it, and the inlet 11 is occasionally closed by the check valve 5 by reversely rotating this push rod 54 from above the cover 2 and retreating it upward at the time of repairing.
