<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operability of manual release when an electronic parking brake device fails. <P>SOLUTION: When a manual release switch 29b provided in a holding part 82a of a manual release lever 82 is touched to output an instruction signal for instructing release of the parking brake device to a control device, an electric actuator is operated to release the parking brake device. Even if the parking brake device can not be released by the manual release switch 29b when the electric actuator and the control device fail at this time, the electric actuator is mechanically operated via a cable 73b to release the parking brake device, only if the holding part 82a of the manual release lever 82 provided with the manual release switch 29b is pulled to the front in a gripped state.
