PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved shape of an end mill having a semi-spherical cutting end, a flat cutting end or a drill end so that chips are smoothly discharged from a center area and the quality of a finished surface of a metal work and the lifetime of a tool are improved in the tool for machining a material by milling and drilling. SOLUTION: A ball nose end mill comprises a body part 12 for gripping and a plurality of grooves 26, and the grooves are machined to form tooth parts 24 adjacent thereto. A chisel edge is provided on each tooth, and a cutting blade end is semi-spherical, flat or drill-tip shaped. When viewed in the direction of an end face, a cutting blade starts from the position close to a cutter center by the distance B above the x-axis, and at the right by the distance 0.5A from y-axis.
