PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking device of an automatic transmission capable of reducing abnormal sound, shock, etc. in restarting after parking without causing lowering of durability, breakage, etc. due to abrasion. SOLUTION: This parking device of the automatic transmission has a cam member 22 to interlock with a select lever and an inhibiting means 18 to inhibit movement of a cone 16 to a parking pole driving position, and the inhibiting means 18 makes the cone 16 in a released state when the select lever is in a parking range and makes it in an inhibiting state when the select lever is out of the parking range by working of the cam member 22.
