PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guidance apparatus and a route guidance method for performing appropriate route guidance which conforms to the driving sense of a driver, under various road conditions. SOLUTION: An angle formed by a first virtual line which connects with a straight line a guiding spot and a spot separated from this guiding spot by a predetermined distance on a branch road for proceeding to the guiding spot, and a second virtual line which connects with a straight line the guiding spot and a spot separated from this guiding spot by a predetermined distance on a branch road for running out from the guiding spot, is found as a guide angle for the guiding spot, and a direction to guide a moving body is represented according to this guide angle. When the guide angle becomes near 180°, the above guiding way for the vehicle is not performed positively, even if the real shape of the road has left and right curves continuously, since the driver usually tends to drive along the road as a driver's driving sense.
