PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage controller which can continuously record data by detecting the abnormality of an HDD and switching MASTER/SLAVE. SOLUTION: A DVR 12 is connected to two SATA converters 14a, 14b via PATA cables. The SATA converter 14a is connected to a SATAHDD 16a via a SATA cable, and the SATA converter 14b is connected to a SATAHDD 16b via a SATA cable. The DVR 12 controls each of the SATA converters 14a, 14b via three cables different from the PATA cable, and sets the SATA converters 14a, 14b for a MASTERHDD and a SLAVEHDD, respectively. Additionally, the DVR 12, if it is determined that the MASTERHDD is abnormal, switches the MASTER/SLAVE for the SATA converters 14a, 14b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
