PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an automatic transmission capable of reducing harnesses and couplers by integrally constructing a stroke position detection means detecting stroke position of a manual valve with an electronic control unit. SOLUTION: The control device for the automatic transmission includes valve bodies 42, 43, 44 having a control valve mechanism executing hydraulic control of a friction engagement element provided in a transmission built therein, a manual valve 35 provided with the electronic control unit 25 provided on the valve body 44 and executing transmission control, provided on the valve body 44, and stroking with interlocking with a range change over operation of a shift lever, and a stroke position detection sensor 61 detecting stroke position of the manual valve 35.
