PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effluent suppressing method for heavy metals containing hexavalent chromium in ash capable of suppressing the effluent of heavy metals such as hexavalent chromium and lead from ash such as fly ash, boiler bottom ash, and cyclone ash discharged from combustion devices such as a combustion furnace such as a fluidized bed furnace for burning an organic matter containing heavy metals such as chromium and lead as fuels, and a boiler. SOLUTION: The effluent suppressing method is used for suppressing the effluent of heavy metals such as hexavalent chromium from ash by adding water for humidification or an aqueous solution of an organic acid to ash discharged from the combustion furnace or a combustion device for burning the organic matter containing chromium and lead as fuel to suppress the effluent of heavy metals such as hexavalent chromium from ash by a reduction action of the organic acid.
