<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of preventing the degradation of airtightness in a filling portion between a housing and a gas sensor element or an insulator. <P>SOLUTION: A gas sensor includes: a cylindrical housing 2; a gas sensor element 3 disposed in the housing 2; a filling portion 4 for filling powder filler containing talc which is a layer compound as a principal component between the inner surface of the housing 2 and the outer surface of a sensor structure member 3 disposed in the housing, and sealing the gap between the housing 2 and the sensor structure member 3. The fitting portion 4 is formed by being filled with the powder filler containing talc which is the layer compound as a principal component. A C-axis orientation of the powder filler in the filling portion 4 is 60-85%. A porosity of the filling portion 4 is 10% or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
