Systems, delivery devices, and methods to treat to ablate, damage, or otherwise affect tissue. The treatment systems are capable of delivering a coolable ablation assembly that ablates targeted tissue without damaging non-targeted tissue. The coolable ablation assembly damages nerve tissue to temporarily or permanently decrease nervous system input. The system, delivery devices, and methods can damage tissue and manage scarring and stenosis.

1. An energy delivery device, comprising:
a catheter shaft; and an ablation assembly coupled to the catheter shaft and including
a cooling element movable from a collapsed state to an expanded state, andan intercartilaginous energy emitter including a plurality of electrodes circumferentially offset from one another about a longitudinal axis of the ablation assembly, the electrodes being configured to delivery energy to a plurality of target regions of an airway that are spaced apart from one another with respect to a longitudinal axis of the ablation assembly, and wherein the energy emitter and the cooling element are configured to cooperate to form intercartilaginous lesions which are spaced apart from surface tissue of the airway and positioned between cartilaginous rings of the airway.
