The present invention addresses the problem of providing a bioreactor wherein the microorganisms or cells used in a biological reaction can be thoroughly and economically sterilized/killed after the completion of the biological reaction. The present invention also provides a biological reaction method that uses the bioreactor. In order to solve the abovementioned problem, the bioreactor according to the present invention and the biological reaction method that uses the bioreactor are characterized in that micro/nano-bubbles that contain a microbicidal gas, such as ozone, that will remain in a liquid for a long period of time are incorporated, after the completion of a biological reaction, into a culture solution that contains a culture medium and microorganisms or cells or into a cleaning liquid.
