The present invention relates to a purification device for water, having a housing with a longitudinal axis, with an upper and a lower end and with a substantially circular cross section. The device furthermore has a receptacle, arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing, for a first purification medium, and a receptacle, arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing, for a second purification medium. The receptacle for the second purification medium is in this case arranged eccentrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the housing.
