PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an intermediate for a plastic optical element which can prevent appearance defects of striae or welts or wrinkles.SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing an intermediate for a plastic optical element comprises a step of draining, into the atmosphere from a nozzle, a portion of a melted plastic provided by melting a plastic within a plasticizing device, a step of contacting a receiving mold being heated at a temperature equal to or higher than the glass transition point of the plastic with the portion of the melted plastic drained from the nozzle and of retaining, while heating, the portion of the melted plastic with the receiving mold, and a step of pressurizing and draining the melted plastic within the plasticizing device while the receiving mold is being moved and of obtaining, by cutting off, an intermediate for a plastic optical element consisting of the melted plastic mass within the receiving mold. |
