PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a novel branched conjugated diene copolymer or a hydrogenated branched conjugated diene copolymer; a rubber composition for a tire comprising the copolymers; and a pneumatic tire which is produced using the rubber composition and improved both in wear resistance and grip performance to a high level.SOLUTION: There is provided a hydrogenated branched conjugated diene copolymer which is obtained by copolymerization of a branched conjugated diene compound (1) represented by the formula (1) and a conjugated diene compound (2), followed by hydrogenation of the copolymer, where the branched conjugated diene compound (1) is farnesene, the conjugated diene compound (2) is 1,3-butadiene or isoprene, the copolymerization ratio (l) of the branched conjugated diene compound (1) is 1 to 99 wt.%, the copolymerization ratio (m) of the conjugated diene compound (2) is 99 to 1 wt.% and the total of (1) and (m) is 100 wt.%.
