PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a layered perovskite type compound thin film whose film thickness and structure are controlled on a monomolecular layer level and further on which various perovskite type compounds can be layered as a monomolecular layer. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a compound expressed by the chemical formula of A2MX4 with A as organic ammonium molecules, M as IV grous elements or transition metals, and X as halogen (Cl, Br, I), and in which a superstructure in which an organic ammonium molecule A layer and an inorganic halide MX4 layer are alternately laminated is formed, a long chain alkyl group-containing organic amine halogenated hydroacid salt monomolecular film having amphipatic properties is developed on an aqueous solution in which inorganic halide MX2 and methylamine halogenated hydroacid salt are dissolved. By allowing the monomolecular film to be left as it is, a layered perovskite compound monomolecular film is formed on the aqueous solution. This layered pervoskite monomolecular film is transferred to the surface of a substrate by using a Langmuir project method and is layered one by one.
