<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument with a cap which achieves simplification of structure in terms of prevention of loss of a cap. <P>SOLUTION: The writing instrument with the cap 1 includes a long body part 3 which holds a core 2, and an arm part 7 whose one end is journaled at a front end of the body part 3 and whose other end is journaled at a front end of the core 2. The front end of the body part 3 and the one end of the arm part 7 are coupled to freely turn through a first shaft part 6, and a first slot 8 is formed in an extending direction of the arm part 7 at the other end of the arm part 7, then a second shaft part 9 inserted in the first slot 8 and pivotally supported to freely turn is formed on the core 2. A cap part 10 is located between the front end of the first slot 8 and the first shaft part 6 and fixed to be opposed to a leading end of the core 2 on the arm part 7.
