PURPOSE: A static inverter with a dual power and an operating method thereof are provided to supply another power of an SIV(Static Inverter) by storing regenerative energy in an energy storage. CONSTITUTION: A power management device(110) applies main power to a main power conversion device(120) to drive a traction motor(130). The power management device applies auxiliary power to an auxiliary power conversion device(140) to drive electrical components including a signal, a lamp and an air conditioner of a railroad car. The main power conversion device and the auxiliary power conversion device are controlled according to a drive signal, a regenerative brake signal and a reverse drive signal. A smoothing condenser(150) smoothes the regenerative power from the traction motor. |
