PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LCD holding device capable of improving visibility of a display screen of an LCD arranged in the LCD display region of a dial, and a meter for a vehicle. SOLUTION: The LCD holding device includes an LCD housing part 3 for housing an LCD 1 which is formed in a case 2 in a rectangular concave shape to fit the rectangular and tabular contour of the LCD 1, and an LCD holding part 13 which is disposed at one side of the rectangle of the LCD housing part 3 for holding one side of the housed LCD 1. The LCD holding part 13 has a flexible foot part 13a which is erected from the case 2, and a holding part 13b formed at the tip end of the foot part 13a. The holding part 13b has a reversely-tapered part 13b1 which is formed tilted so that the width gradually becomes larger from the foot part 13a in the direction to its tip end, and when the LCD 1 is housed in the LCD housing part 3, the reversely-tapered part 13b1 comes in contact with the upper edge portion of one side of the LCD 1, and applies stress to the LCD 1, thereby holding the LCD 1.
