PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily perform detecting of presence or absence of leakage at a joint section of a gas pipe and determining of a leakage position in a short time and to prevent an inner section of the gas pipe from being polluted in the detecting of the leakage. SOLUTION: This leak tester is equipped with a probe 1 for forming a sealed space by surrounding a joint section in which a test gas such as a dried high purity nitrogen gas is enclosed and a detector 2 for measuring a concentration of oxide or a humidity of the gas by introducing the gas in the probe 1. By using the leak tester, the joint section is surrounded by the probe, the gas in the probe is introduced to the detector, and then the leakage of the gas from the joint section is detected based on the change with time of the concentration of oxide or humidity in the gas. It is preferable that a configuration that the probe and the detector are united with each other, facilitates carrying of the leak tester. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
